Transport Canada Air Cargo Security Program - New Information and Deadlines
Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association Sep 03, 2010
Transport Canada is further hardening the Secure Supply Chain by introducing new enhanced requirements for participation in the Air Cargo Security Program.
Over the past four years the Air Cargo Security Program has worked with industry through a voluntary program to develop the enhanced requirements to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public, while ensuring that air cargo continues to move in and out of Canada efficiently.
ACS Participant Freight Forwarders have the option to incorporate the enhanced required elements in their present Cargo Security Plan (CSP) or to complete a CSP Template provided by Transport Canada. A full suite of program documents, along with compliance tools, is available through your Secure Channel account (go to "Access Transport Canada Documents" and then to "ACS Participant Requirements (2010)").
Participating Freight Forwarders are advised to check their Secure Channel Accounts for new program information and important Participant deadlines. Transport Canada would like to take this opportunity to thank all Participants for their active engagement in the design of Canada's air cargo security program.
