APHIS Updates Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Implementation Guide

USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) recently posted an updated version of its Implementation Guidelines (PGA Message Sets) for APHIS Core Programs. This guide provides a comprehensive explanation of the data structures and formats businesses must use to submit APHIS-required import data through the Automated Broker Interface. Refer to the Table of Changes, page 14, Version 4.8 for a description of the changes made on August 23, 2016.
Changes made to the Implementation Guidelines were programmed and effective September 16, 2016, in the ACE Certification (CERT) environment where trade users test their systems’ ability to send and receive data from ACE.
The same changes will be implemented in the ACE Production environment—the system used to process actual import and export submissions—on October 15, 2016.
