Atlantic Exports expected to Revive in 2016

Nova Scotia exports fell in 2015 but appear poised to rebound this year, driven by seafood, agri-food and recovering energy prices, according to Export Development Canada.
A Bad 2015
EDC expects that when all the numbers are in, Nova Scotia exports will be down by about four per cent for last year, trailing the national average of a one-per-cent, but outpacing its biggest provincial neighbours.
The plunge in oil prices, that blunted growth nationally, was expected to chop the value of exports from Newfoundland and Labrador by 38 per cent for 2015. And New Brunswick exports are likely down by five per cent.
PEI, on the other hand, will show growth of 12 per cent when final 2015 statistics are available, EDC says in its late-year forecast. That's on the back of high seafood prices and a fast-growing chemical and plastics industry.
