CBSA eManifest Updates

CBSA has advised of several eManifest updates recently posted on their website.

Please note that CSCB representatives are still working to resolve some outstanding policy issues and that, prior to the national annual conference in the fall, there is one more chance to learn more about eManifest if you live in southern Ontario - the TO/ON joint annual conference in Port Credit on June 15.

• Thirteen new or updated eManifest policy summaries on the Requirements for Commercial Clients Web page as follows:
  • Additions and Repairs to Commercial Vehicles (new)
  • Auto-cancellation of Unused Cargo Control Numbers (new)
  • Documenting Proof of Report for Highway Frontier Release(s) (updated*)
  • Electronic Processing at Commercial Non-Terminal Offices (new)
  • Exceptional Clearances – Interim Highway Process (updated*)
  • Hand-carried Goods (new)
  • Instruments of International Trade – Highway and Rail Modes (new)
  • Licence Plate and Equipment Identification Numbers (new)
  • Mixed (electronic/paper) shipments in Highway Mode – Interim Process (updated**)
  • Presenting eManifest Highway Bar Codes on Arrival at the Border (new)
  • Single-trip In-bond Highway Movements (updated*)
  • Third-party Transmission of an Importer Advance Trade Data Exception Indicator (new)
  • Transmitting Accurate eManifest Highway Cargo Data (new)
• A short notice directed to highway carriers about proprietary aspects of the ACI/eManifest Highway ECCRD also on the eManifest Requirements for Commercial Clients Web page.
• Information for rail clients about how to request a copy of the ACI/eManifest Rail ECCRD.
• The posting of the Portal ECCRD version 1.1.

In addition to the standard issuing of RSS news feeds to notify subscribers of important Web updates, the first eManifest Tweet was issued on May 23, 2012, directing carriers, freight forwarders and importers to updated policy summaries in the commercial requirements section on the CBSA Web pages.
